Specific, honest guidance for your Psy.D. application

Welcome to PsyD Tea!

The PsyD application process can feel confusing and overwhelming (I know because I just went through it)! Most of the resources online were from people who have never applied to Psy.D. programs themselves or from large admissions companies that could not provide Psy.D.-specific application advice.

I was admitted to multiple top Psy.D. programs, and I started Psy.D. Tea to give you the inside scoop. My goal is to help you save time, money, and stress by avoiding common pitfalls and helping you build a standout application.

Hi, I’m Jodie!

About Me

I’m a matcha lover, a corgi enthusiast, and a psychology nerd. I am also an incoming Psy.D. student at the PAU–Stanford Psy.D. Consortium, a clinical psychology training program run in collaboration with Stanford Medicine.

I graduated summa cum laude from Carnegie Mellon University with a B.S. in Psychology, and went on to work in clinical psychology research labs at Yale University and University of California, Berkeley.

In the 2026 cycle, I applied to four PsyD programs and was admitted to all four, including the PAU–Stanford Psy.D. Consortium. I was also awarded a merit scholarship from the University of Denver. I did this all without sacrificing 8 hours of sleep.

Why I started PsyD Tea

When I went through the PsyD application process, I was surprised by how few resources were actually tailored to PsyD applicants. I remember applying to colleges and having access to endless resources. But this time, I found myself struggling to figure out which programs were reputable, what actually mattered in an application, and how to frame my experiences properly.

A lot of information I came across was either geared towards PhD students, overly generic, or unnecessarily discouraging. I also spent one too many nights going down Reddit and YouTube rabbit holes that left me more confused than when I started.

I wanted someone to take the guesswork out of the process, so I created PsyD Tea to spill what I wish I knew as an applicant.
